Fanless 3.5″ Embedded Miniboard for Intel Atom Z510 Solution
The TCS-001-01810 is the latest addition to the family of 3.5″ Embedded Miniboards. This board is based on the Intel Atom Z510P processor and Intel System Controller Hub US15WP for embedded life cycle support. The combination of high performance, low power and integrated graphics/video makes this platform well suited for many embedded market segments such as in-vehicle infotainment, industrial control and automation, gaming, diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices, media phones, and retail and transaction solutions.
The TCS-001-01810 Embedded miniboard offers the Graphics Accelerator GMA500, that supports shadier-based technology 2D, 3D and advanced 3D graphics, 256MB of graphic memory as well as integrated full hardware acceleration of H.264, MPEG2, MPEG4, VC1 and WMV, eliminating the need for software decode and off-loading the processor. and it also provides a dual display for VGA/LVDS/DVI.

The fanless design of the RFID Series decreases downtime and reduces the need for on-site support due to cooling system failure. TCS-003-01702 – 12.1″ Intel Atom Access Control Terminal (Panel PC)
The TCS-003-01702 is a 12” TFT monitor with touch screen and EM/MIFARE access control. The system is built around a 1.6 GHz Intel® Atom™ N270 processor for ultra low voltage fanless operation. The TCS-003-01702 features a four channel digital I/O (two inputs and two outputs) with screw terminals for easy connection. Digital input/output devices enable direct control of equipment and machines, and are used in a wide variety of applications from factory automation and machine control to home automation. Motors, heaters, valves, lamps and other home appliances can be controlled with the digital I/O interface. Finally, the CMOS camera features a low light function for capturing images in poor lighting conditions.
The RFID Series includes the TCS One Key Recovery software. This software easily creates a full system backup on demand and allows recovery from system failure by restoring to a previously made backup.
The RFID Series with built-in RFID readers are a cost-effective part of a complete access control and security application.

The First IP67 Fanless Industrial Panel PC in the World
Total Control Solutions Upgrades Its 15” Industrial Panel PC for Harsh and Hygienic Applications
TCS-003-01688 series is TCS’s all-in-one industrial panel PC with high protection enclosure design to achieve high level water & dust resistant and is an ideal solution for harsh and hygienic environments. Such demanding applications can be as the shop floor terminal for chemical & steel plants where high exposure to spray, heat and air-borne particles; or used in the food production, critical clinical site, and pharmaceuticals laboratories where strictest hygienic requirements is a must.
For TCS’s 15” Intel Atom based TCS-003-01688 high protection industrial panel PC, our latest efforts is to upgrade the design to IP67 (NEMA 6) enclosure protection and fanless operation.
IP67 (NEMA 6) Enclosure Protection
The International Standard IEC 60529 defines IP (International Protection or Ingress Protection) rating, the first code “6” indicates no ingress of dust (dust tight condition), the second code “7” indicates no ingress of water for up to 1 meter submersion under defined conditions of pressure & time (30 minutes).
To achieve this IP67 high protection, TCS designed the whole enclosure without any exposed ventilation slots, minimized housing joints and sealed them with rubbers/gaskets, glued the touch panel seamlessly to the bezel, and used waterproof type I/O connectors and a membrane keypad. Further more, we used marine grade corrosion resistant type 316 stainless steel to create a smooth surface housing which can repels dirt, dust and water effectively and makes extensive cleaning an easy task.
With such complete closed construction, we needed to consider a possible side-effect. The operating heat will be accumulated inside the housing and cause an expansion effect, or after cooling-off, there will be condensed moisture. Both could affect enclosure closeness or cause critical components damage. To prevent this, TCS added a unique air-breathing design for heat emission without degrading the enclosure’s IP67 rating.
Fanless Operation for 40°C Ambient Temperature
Previously TCS-003-01688 operated with smart fan and IP65 enclosure, with the new IP67 complete closed construction, it is even more difficult for fanless operation. TCS’s mechanical & thermal engineers managed to find better component placement, better heatsink design to achieve the best heat dissipation for those thermal critical components (i.e. CPU, chipset, hard disk drive, and system memory). Now, for up to 40°C ambient temperature, our TCS-003-01688 can operate without fan and is more quiet and reliable.
For some applications that required even higher ambient operating temperature, we can adapt wide range temperature hard disk drive, add one fan for system memory heat dissipation and the whole system can operate for up to 50°C ambient temperature.

The system includes a 1.6 GHz Intel® Atom™ N270 processor for ultra low voltage, fanless operation. Attention grabbing multimedia content, advertising and information, can be delivered via the Ethernet connection on the TCS-003-01700.
The TCS-003-01700 system provides entrance management by controlling door access via an external slave reader using the standard Wiegand 26 protocol especially designed for controlling access points like entrances and exits. The TCS-003-01700 system can be placed at an entrance to scan an identification card via the RFID reader, while a Wiegand slave reader connected to the system is used inside for exit control. Dual identification ensures a higher level of security.
The Wiegand card reader provides high quality, stable performance in conditions of rain or snow, extreme temperatures, radio frequency or magnetic field interference. The Wiegand interface connector on the TCS-003-01700 supports remote placement of the reader up to 100 meters away.
The TCS-003-01700 can be deployed for elevator security management to control in-elevator readers to restrict access from the ground floor to other floors. The TCS-003-01700 can also be used for access control in hospitals, office and apartment buildings.
